Trail Blazers

I went to a Portland Trail Blazer this past Friday and I have to say that it was probably the most fun I had ever had at a sporting event. And though I'm an avid Niner fan and got great seats to a game back in November, the $15 ticket that put me at the very top row of the Rose Garden brought some pretty exciting memories.

G.W. is "The One"

From the man who brought the world gems such as "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream" and "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again", now faces the greatest challenge of his career.

They misunderestimated him.

Ocarina

I just purchased the Ocarina application for my iPhone, and it's quite entertaining. I only have a couple applications, one for fantasy football and the other is a watered down Facebook app that is a lil' easier to navigate then trying to bring up the actual site. I have never played a musical instrument, so it's interesting.

Here is a score from Zelda, Ocarina of time. It's a whole lot hard then it seemed, to actually get to song to sound right. You have to hold your phone just right so that you can play while covering all four holes or covering none. You also have to start and stop breathes between notes otherwise you get a popping sound that messing the whole song up and is terribly noticeable. You can change to look and colors of your Ocarina and change to mode for different pitches. You can also enable your iPhone to be heard to whoever else has the application, and listen to others that have enabled theirs. It's all pretty fun. In the forums on the site people have submitted scores for all there favorite songs and themes. My first is to master The Ocarina of Time. Probably a YouTube will follow once I have.

I Manage a Football Team...Fantasy

It's my second year playing Fantasy Football, and this time around I have 2 teams in playoffs, one with a first week bye, instead of failing to make playoffs like last year. Last year was all about the noobiness, picking names that were big, but not necessarily having an impact on the fantasy world.

This week I field in my 14-team league:
Drew Brees (QB-NO)
Greg Jennings (WR-GB)
Eddie Royal (WR-Den)
Joseph Addai (RB-Ind)
Dominic Rhodes (RB-Ind)
Greg Olsen (TE-Chi)
Donnie Avery (WR-StL)
Muhsin Muhhamad (WR-Car)
Matt Bryant (K-TB)
Pittsburg (Def)

Step Brothers

The extended version of Step Brothers came out on DVD and I'd have to say I'm not impressed. Like in Talladega Nights, the John C. Reilly/Will Ferrell combo is an absolute riot, but unlike Talladega, I could definitely not watch Step Brothers and its extra features for an entire summer while drinking Brokers and eating chow tails. Don't get me wrong, the movie was great, but without anything new I can anticipate it getting old real fast.

I tried to watch the extended version and failed to notice any significant new or extended scenes, with the exception of one between Reilly and Brennan's sister in law (the one that wanted to roll Reilly into a ball and keep him in her "whispering eye"). Gag reel was junk. Line-O-Rama was junk. You should buy the cheap copy and frame the original cover, that's what I'd do.

A movie that didn't fail with it's release of an extended version was Tropic Thunder. Great scene additions and pretty interesting special features. Next up is The Dark Night, December 9th.

Bringin' Adam Back (take it to the cards)

My presence will become much more visible in the not too distant future.

For anyone who didn't know, I was caught up in the World of Warcraft. I had the get off work, play WoW till 6am, sleep till 4pm then wake for work lifestyle set on loop and was content with nothing else at the time. It's terribly addicting. After time it is the worst game you'll ever play, you'll be completely fed up with it and Blizzard, but still you cant help but log in and waist your life, eight hour sittings at a time. But there is hope...

I've woken before 9am, I've answered Dustin's text invites for poker, called my buddy Don back, and talked to Samij on AIM. Small steps to getting my life back. Time to find some other form of recreation.

San Francisco

Using some vacation time, I took 6 days off work to drive down to San Francisco and attended the 49er/Ram game this past Sunday with a buddy from work who is a St. Louis fan. I hadn't been to a Niner game in a long while, and it's something I really want to make an annual event. We got up there a day early so the majority of out Saturday was spent sitting in traffic before and after visiting Fishermans Wharf.

Google maps, on the iPhone, was put to full use and made a world of difference when searching for places to eat.
