Notebook Issues
I have been looking for a notebook for a long time. I'm not really sure what is "good" or not, and it's getting hard to try and weed out the junkers. I found this one at Circuit City, it has good ratings and it's cheap for the features it has. Like someone suggested, I might upgrade the memory to 512mb to make it run even faster. But as usual, cost is a big factor.
Friends and strangers, guys and gals, what do you think? Any suggestions?

If I was going to buy a laptop, I would wait until Jan. when apple powerbooks get intel chips. If I couldn't wait that long, I would buy a sony vaio.
I like the Vaio a lot but also have had good experinces on the Toshibas'
VAIO's are indeed sweet, and I'm a Sony lover if you guys haven't already noticed.
I haven't noticed actually? I dont think you have mentioned sony on this blog?
My last three computers have been Sony. I enjoy them.
don't buy that one you linked to, or any laptop with a celeron for that matter. it seems like a good deal, but you'll definately regret it. You gotta get something with a p4 or a p4m.
Donnie, I don't think the intel powerbooks are coming out 'til around June. Apple had said that the low end models (ie. mac mini and maybe ibook) would be switching in january with the whole line switched by the end of 06. That puts the powerbooks about 4th on the list by my best guess.
I'd be happy with an iBook. Sure I can't game on them, but I wouldn't want to be seen gaming in public.
