There Not Moleskine, But They'll Do

These are my temporary Moleskine bookends, they consist of my Smeagol statue from my Special edition 'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King' box set, and a Buddha. I'm Just using these as my Moleskine bookends until I can get my hands on a set like these. I wouldn't mind having the cardboard ones that they use for bulk sets either.

New Glasses

I'm thinking about getting some new glasses. I wear contacts, but I'm really getting tired of wearing them. Plus glasses would be nice to wear on the weekends when my eyes need a break. I was think of some Oakley frames, specifically the Split Threads. I like the no frame look. Here is the rest of the prescription frames. I have always wanted some prescription glasses from Oakley. I have always been an Oakley person, I have at least 10 pairs of sunglasses by Oakley: Fire iridium Juliets, Monster Dog, Wardens, Zeros, XXs, Five 2.0s, Minutes, just to name a few. I also have the Wisdom goggles. I am addicted to Oakley!!!

Mixed Reviews On 'War of the Worlds'

Well I've talked to a few people that have already seen 'War of the Worlds', and I have gotten some mixed reviews. One said that the beginning was awesome for about the first hour, but went down hill from there. The other two loved it except for a few things.

don't read if you don't want to spoil it for yourself

My brother said that the special effects were great and the dialogue was also good. He claimed it to be a mix of 'Sings' and 'Independence Day'. But there were some things that were a little off. He exclaimed how there was no real climax. He said it was building and building but no real extraordinary moment. He also didn't like that everyone was split up and in the end they all meet up. Oh, you think that someone I dead, but there not. He said that it had some styling that of M. Night Shyamalan.

Note a complete review, mainly because I haven't seen it yet, but its a start.

Emo

Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who don't smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.

::sniff sniff:: "The Demise of the Siberian Traintracks of Our Rusty Forgotten Unblemished Love" sounds like it would make a great emo band name. ::cry::

Moleskine Ideas

Basically I have been thinking up and story boarding (wish I had the story board notebook) interesting ways to advertise Moleskine. My first idea and picture are posted below,'20's Never Looked So Good'. Armand of Moleskinerie liked it and asked if he could post it! How can I say no to that. Now I am focused on how users carry/transport their Moleskine(s). I have a few ideas so far. This is similar to what I'm thinking, but not exactly. I have some other ideas not related to transportation, but those are still being worked on. I post pictures when they are up. If I never get to creating them, I might ask someone with the right software to do them.

"Do You Moleskine?"

Almost There

Looking through my Moleskine I notice that I have almost filled it up. I have only had it since about May 1st. I have used it so much and it has helped me with so many things: Chores, appointments, games, phone numbers, school finals, and much more. I have written down ideas for projects, drawn out what I'm thinking and even made a signature page, where anyone who wishes to sign, can. I already have a new ruled pocket Moleskine so that I can continue on when my current one is complete. I also have a pocket reporter, which I cant find a good use for, at the moment. I plan on getting a pocket squared notebook and a large ruled notebook. As far as I am concerned, one can never have to many Moleskines. They are perfect just to have laying around. And their uses and durability are endless. After each is complete I will label the back cover with the date thru is was used, and what s was used for: Ideas, notes, school, drawing, etc.

Can't Sleep

It's kind early, I know, but I cant sleep. Yesterday(Sunday) I drew out a real elaborate drawing of our back yard and wrote out directions for a sprinkler project my mom gave my brother and I. While setting some sprinklers up water was spraying, didn't really think much about it. Later, when I went to look at the directions, I noticed that the 'Skine is soaked. Mainly my directions but a few pages on either side of them as well. Quickly I patted them off and let it air dry. The pages have ripples and also have some smears, but no major damaged occurred. Funny how much these things can take. I have stepped on it, sprayed water on it, sat on sit excessively, dropped it on concrete, and used the heck out of it, and it still holds up. This experience makes me love Moleskine even more. I now know that I can take it any where and do anything and my Moleskine will be alright. Now when I show pictures from my Moleskine and people say that sucks what happened, I just say it gives it character. Makes it look like I'm not a neat freak.

'Skine Lingo

Our little group of Moleskiners(Myself,Donnie, Scott, Kalah) have started some Moleskine lingo. Usually when someone asks what we are writing in, that regrettably knows nothing about Moleskine, we answer with Moleskine pronounced mole skin. But when other knowledgeable Moleskiners ask where our notebook is we answer with mol-a-skeen'-a. It's kinda geeky, but it's fun. And besides, geeks are the new pimps.

My Moleskine Art

Here is some of my Moleskine art from my pocket 'Skine. There are more, but most are just little sketches and would take too much time to take pictures of since I don't have a scanner. These are the larger, full page pictures which are a little easier on the eyes, hopefully. Enjoy!

20's Never Looked So Good

My older brother Anthony just bought some new 20's for his new Magnum. When he came over and I saw that crome spinning, I totally imagined how sweet my 'Skine would look on his wheels. I had to get the picture. I also plan on some new advertising ideas for the Moleskine. So I called him back over later in the evening and took a few pictures.

The Transition

A this time my blog is about anything; life, school, sports, technology, Moleskines. But now I think that I am going to steer in the direction more towards Moleskines, but not completely. I am fascinated with how much stuff you can do with a Moleskine and how it can keep one on track, or at least keep me on track. I will post on peoples thoughts, ideas, art, hacks(old and new), my Moleskine experiences, others experiences, and new innovative uses for Moleskines. Maybe a whole new blog just for Moleskine?

Shit Happens

Today was a pretty regular day. Last night I was at Donnie's watching Donnie Darko, which was a completely confusing but satisfying film. I spent the night there because I didn't feel like getting pulled over with no proof of insurance, expired registration, and an invalid license. Smart? Later today Donnie, Austin, and I went swimming at my house. Donnie just swung on the hammock. Then we went back to his place hoping that we could meet up with his brother and some of his friend to play some basketball. But we didn't, instead Donnie was accidentally shot in the stomach with a pistol pellet gun by Scott. Shit happens. Later I went and talked to Kalah at the stand because I haven talked to her since our 'Date' and I felt bad about that.

Sport Contacts?

Nike, along with Bausch & Lomb Inc., has decided to start producing outdoor sport contacts. The different tints will block specific wavelengths. This will help to reduce glare, enhance contrast, and improve clarity for the different sports. They should help make objects "pop out."

Playing different types of sports I can see how these might help. Instead of wearing sunglasses, your can wear basically weightless contacts that will do the same, possibly even better. Another source said that the darker grey tint will be for football, reducing glare when looking for the ball on sunny days. The amber tint will be for sports such as soccer that will help the ball stand out more.

I would probably pick up a pair just to see how they work out. I wear contacts already and the Maxsight's aren't yet setup for prescriptions. Interesting concept.

What a glorious summer

I imagine that most of my summer will be spent A: Doing miscellaneous weekend jobs for my mom's friends, B: Slummin it around the house, or C: hanging at Donnie and Scott's place. Most of my friends from high school decided to stay at school instead of coming home, or, those that live in Medford still, decided to become anti social and not leave their houses because I haven't seen any of them.

The "Double Date"

Basically a kickass night last night. Donnie, Amanda, Kalah, and I went out to Kat Wok for dinner. I had the Kat Wok roll which for delicious. I hadn't had sushi in a while, but this made me want to start up again. Also the green beans owned. Donnie devoured his plate, that he shared with Amanda, and my plate, that I shared with Kalah. After we headed back to Amanda's place and played some games. Another 'hang out' is planned for tonight at Donnie's playa playground which I have named " The Stumble Inn."

Well, I'm Jealous

My little brother just called from Hawaii. Wonderful, hot, humid, not rainy( or 85 degree rain), lots of hott half naked women Hawaii. He's already been sky diving and said it was, "The Balls!" He has also been renting scooters and cruisin all over. Well it is his first time there. He missed our last trip to the Pro Bowl 2 years ago in Honolulu so he has the right to go crazy. He said he is also seeing Batman Begins tonight and I exclaimed how flippin' sweet it is.

The List

So I have recently started a list of interesting phrases or words that I hear or read. Most people I see that have favorite words go looking through urban dictionary and find some crazy stuff. But I looked for words and phrases that are actually used. I have also put some of my own creations on the list...
  • Geeks are the new Pimps: Me
  • Uber 1337: Mainly online gaming nerds
  • Churg: I dont remember
  • Mental Masturbation: 'Prankst Grup'
  • Chunder: My Friend
  • Yardeeyar: Me
  • Your Fired: Donald Trump, 'The Apprentice'
  • Tell them that joke you know: Bruce Wayne, Batmans Begins
  • G'd up from the feet up: 'Pimp My Ride'
  • ROFL: Again, nerds
  • You are a blinding brilliant light from heaven: Will Ferrell

I'm still compiling more words and phrases to the list but that's what I have so far.

Batman Begins

~don't read if you haven't seen it and don't want to spoil its greatness~
I thought that it was a good movie, along with Donnie and Amanda. It was a pretty good beginning, Ha, into the rest of the Batmans. This Batman definitely made that other Batmans look like pussies. It moved really fast for a while in the beginning, I didn't even know the movie really started until a little ways in. It also had a pretty decent script with good humor that was well placed. I HEART KATIE HOLMES! Some people don't think she is that great but what can I say, I love her. I am a sucker for crossed eyed brunettes. Joker is introduced in the end, sweetness! It also was dark and creepy at times, which is a plus. Christian Bale was a good choice, he looked like a Batman man.

My Moleskine Suggestions

  • Don't try to fill your Moleskine up deliberately, just use it casually
    • Prevents 'crap' from being written down and saves pages
  • You can read out of your Moleskine, but don't let others read through your it
    • Some material may be personal
  • Take it everywhere
    • Just in case something comes up or is worth noting
  • Don't rip out pages
    • It's respectful and it saves pages
  • Draw at your own risk
    • Mess ups do happen and pen is hard to erase
  • Save your Moleskine(s)
    • Makes for a good read later on
  • Stickers are OK
    • Having your own personality is encouraged
  • Use the Pilot G2 pen
    • .7mm or lower, they wont smear or go through the pages
  • Recruit those who you think are worthy of using Moleskines
    • Not everyone is worthy
  • Tabs
    • Good for organizing sections
  • Enjoy

Weird Waiters are Weird

We went out to Olive Garden tonight for dinner and ended up witnessing one of the funniest things ever.
Towards the end of our meal there was a new family that sat just in front of us. So our original waiter takes a break, he was a pimp, and here come one of the goffiest people I have ever seen. As he begins the clean our table he knocks over the cheese grater and under his breath he mumbles,
" Mother Fucker!"
The people that sat down next to us asked he was alright and he exclaimed,
"Its ok, I just lost my cheese!"
Following this was one of the ugliest and most awkward smiles I have ever seen. I almost crapped when he "smiled". And what the hell does that mean, 'I lost my cheese'? Then he proceeded to ask if we were of and if we wanted our check while starring at my sisters chest. So to let him know I noticed the constant stare I told him that our faces we up here.
And to finish the night off he claimed that he would give us a few extra mints. He gave us 3, total. There were 4 of us dining. And when he gave them to us he acted like it was a treat and he went out his way to get 'em. He even went as far to give a little wink , at my sister, in the end.

Now I know I don't write very well, but I think I got my point across.

Old Friends are Marvelous

Today a bunch of my old friends that I haven't seen in like a year called. Some went to U of O, some OSU, and others just became anti-social once school started. We went to our old elementary school, Orchard Hill, and played some soccer, since we were basically pro for 4 years. Then we went to one of their parents house and played some pool and caught up on things. Enjoying chips 'n' salsa with old friends while reminiscing= Priceless.

My Moleskine Hacks: Pocket Puller & The Hooker

Pocket Puller: For this hack all you need is some electrical tape and some scissors. Simply cut off a desirable length of tape for your pocket. Apply it to the inside of the pocket. Then cut another piece of tape, at the same size as the other, and apply it to the other piece. If it is longer just fold over, it's okay. Now you have a simple pull tab to get into your secret pocket. Enjoy

The Hooker: This is not really a hack but it is fun to do around your friends. Hold the Moleskine on the 4 fingers of your left hand. With your thumb, hook(wink) the elastic band and pull it back almost to the spine. Release and the band will launch itself making you notebook accessible at write in. Make sure the band has no twists in it, ever.

The Usual Suspects: Five Criminals. One Line Up. No Coincidence

This film revolves around one question: "Who is Kaiser Soze?"

Easily one of the best crime films ever conceived by a human. The Usual Suspects is an incredibly creative and perfectly mastered mystery film that will grab you by the head, shake you senseless with the content's miraculous wit and cleverness, then at its ending and the peak climax of the film it gives you the answer behind the entire situation, yet leaves you with so many questions. You cannot watch this feature just once, you will not capture the movie at its entirety in one sitting. I think it will appeal to all viewers and make you appreciate the work done to produce this film. Directed by Bryan Singer at age 27!!!

I Be Slackin Yo!!!

I have come to realize that I have missed a day of blogging. Since my birthday, I have been too lazy to post. Not like there has been anything exciting that happened, well I found a Pinata head and I was going to post on that but my awesome little brother destroyed it, literally, before I got the chance to take any pictures. I had it in my rear view mirror of the subaru and it would have read:
"Pinatas are the new Dream Catchers!"
It would have been a whole lot interestng if I would have taken the picture I had in mind.
I just got a call from my mechanic working on my car and he said that he has not found any good parts to fix it. He has been ordering used front ends but none have all the right pieces it needs. He also says that he will need to bump up the price since he has to 'mix and match.' Awesome!

Donnie just officially had the apartment singed in his name, so this summer we will definitely kick it there. Hells Yea!

I haven't heard anything about Boise and whether I have been hired or not. I called last week and the secretary said that there were a lot of applicants and it would take a while to review all. I am basing my next year of school on it so they better flippin call!

This is how I feel about some of the shit going on in my life right now;
  • My Baby-----You're a mechanic, fix my God damn car!!!
  • School----Almost over, Yessssssss(repeat in Napoleon voice)
  • Donnie's apartment----Flippin Sweet!
  • Dirty ass room----- too bummed to clean right now
  • Training for cross country----Totally slackin
  • I love Dutch Bros
  • Life Aquatic----A Blinding Brilliant Light from Heaven
Ima try to finish this week up good then totally start focusing on what I need to do for school and my myself. I will follow up on Boise, read my Book, which is quite interesting so far, start running every other day, take a lot of pictures.

Late,
