How Does That Happen?

How does that happen? You feel like your so close to someone. The person you've liked since the first time they have talked to you, way back in 8th grade. You have always wanted something more to happen, more then just friends or good friends. She has always been taken, but you stay be her side hoping that she might feel the same way that you do. Why does this happen? You leave her sometimes thinking that nothing will every happen, feeling so strong that nothing will ever happen, but secretly longing to be with her. Then, one day, you find out how she feels, you're overjoyed, you feel blessed that she does in fact feel the same. But is it real? Things get good. Things get better. Life becomes easy. Is there anything more beautiful than her heart, than her smile? You wake up every morning at peace, each day better then the last. You feel as if your living a long awaited dream. Love. Then one night it stops, slowly, and you're confused. A few months goes by. You've seen her around, here and there, and hope at night, that the person calling, is her. Waiting. Waiting. Hoping. Then all of a sudden she's engaged , and like that, "Poof!", you know its over. How does that happen? Breathe. Breathe. Where did this come from? I am happy for what she has found, love, but I am saddened, so saddened by what I have lost. What do you do now? Do you look around your room, house, the car: the places you have enjoyed each others presence. Everything moves so slow now. How does this happen?

Nixon Rotolog+iPod Video

What do you think of the white Nixon Rotolog? It seems like more of a formal watch to me, where as the black and wood Rotologs are more for the casual scene. I just got a iPod video and thought it and the white Rotolog would go pretty good together (for pictures). I need a new watch anyway, most of my other ones have been really light weight running watches, I want a more masculine watch. So should I pick up a white Rotolog? Good decision? Bad decision?

Fuzzy Memories

I was coming back from the late night Taco Bell/Pizza Hut last night and started to chuckle when I remembered an incredibly funny and awkward situation that happened last summer, in which we had weird encounter with a very strange Medford cop.

Last summer my younger brothers and I had the unholy task of cleaning out our garage. We had been cleaning all day and decided to take a break, so my brother Andrew decides to take off his shirt. Soon there after a Medford Police officer, Officer Sweeney, pulls up in front of our house, gets out of his car, then asks to speak to all of us. W had no idea what we had done and we began to look at each other in confusion. When we got to him he how we were doing and what we had been up to. Then he asks a question was out of left field. He says,
" I had received a couple of complaints about a group of boys running around, knocking on peoples door and running up their ladders."
Instantly we all start laughing, but he maintains a straight face and appears to be pretty serious. We told him we hadn't seen anything. This is probably the best part of the story, he begins to give a description he had received about one of the heathens.
" Well, I heard that one of the boys that was running around was about your age (while pointing at Andrew), and had brown hair , dark skin, about 200 pounds, and was wearing a green shirt and blue shorts, with a green watch."
He gave us this description all while looking directly at my brother Andrew, who was wearing those same articles of clothing and had matched that exact description. I figured he was full of shit, but obviously couldn't tell him that. We insisted that we in fact were not running around the neighborhood, knocking on peoples doors and running up their ladders. I mean, what kids looking to get arise out of some old folks would run up their ladders. Then he just stared at us for a while, which actually wasn't that long at all, but to a cop be starring at a few teenagers seems a whole lot longer.

This story still floats around the house now and then to this day. We'll walk around asking each other if we had seen any kids running around knocking on peoples doors and running up their ladders. That was a good time, here's to you officer Sweeney.

Silver Coin Ring

We have recently acquired a 1967 Kennedy half dollar coin, which is 80% silver. On Donnie's Ooler.com, he linked up directions he had found on how to make a coin ring out of the JFK half dollar, which I printed up later. We have most of the tools and plan on making this coin ring ASAP. I'll take 'step by step' pictures as well. The thing that counts is that it has to be made of silver, the more the better. Silver is soft enough that you can do this with just a large spoon. If I had a 100% silver JFK half dollar it would be even easier to mold, but 80% should be just fine. The origonal link, here, has not been working for a while, hopefully from my pictures I can make new directions and post them too.

Taking A Break

Well it looks like I'll be taking the winter term off as far as school is concerned. I only need one more class before I can move on to my upper division courses, but that class is only being offered in the spring term and there is no point wasting $2,000 on filler classes. The downside is that I wont be able to run track this year, which means I have to red shirt to keep this years eligibility. I will more than likely get a job, either at a Rogue Federal or Costco, hopefully.

My sister has a fund raiser in Redmond ,to promote herself and the new miss Oregon USA, around the new years, so I get to go up there again and do some shopping. Man I love those outlet stores. I'll probably pick up an '06 planner at the B&N there and exchange my jacket because an elastic band snapped.

And here are the pictures from our last tip to Redmond.

*Not really the greatest feeling, but definitely an "Ah Ha!" moment. If it were the greatest feeling in the world to me I would be considered "lame" and you should feel sorry for me.

Kong Is King: A Review Of King Kong

King Kong without a doubt is one of the most awesome films I have seen, period. I had high hopes going in and was completely satisfied leaving. As I joke I said that we should have seen 'Narnia' and as a result I was slapped in the face by my brother. So many elements made then film great. The CG was incredible, fight scenes remarkable, and I really started to feel sympathetic towards the characters and what each one was going through. Only Kong could take on three T. Rex's at once, eventually crushing their skulls, all while keeping Ann(Naomi Watts) safe in hand You really start to see the love in King Kong's when he is with Ann. Jack(Adrien Brody), a top writer for theater, falls in love with Ann but just cant seem to convey that to her till the latter part of the film. Jack Black(Carl Denham) did an amazing job, especially for being known as such an obnoxious actor and comedian. The length of this feature, 3 hours and 7 minutes, doesn't take away from the movie itself at all. Sure, some scenes such as the fight with all the bugs could have been left out, but they didn't take away from this Epic in its entirety. And the ending was amazing, you know what's going to happen but still I hoped it wouldn't, then when it does your are stunned.
"It wasn't the airplanes; beauty killed the beast."
I was glad that Andy Serkis, Known for portraying Gollum and Smeagol in The Lord of the Rings', was in this film. Not only did he play Kong, but he had is own role in the movie, Lumpy. He brought the comedy to this Action/Adventure/Drama.

More at IMDb.

This is just a small review about the part that really got my attention. It was definitely worth the $5.25 to get in, the $4.75 for the popcorn, and the $6.50 for the two drinks.

I'm All Ass Backwards

My sleeping schedule is all messed up, I am up till like 6 or 7am, then sleep till like 2 or 3pm. I think that the main reason is my brothers work schedule. I usually wait for him to get home so that we can hang out, but he gets off work at like 12:30am, which means I'm up with him till about 2am. Then I'm so awake from snacking and watching movies that I can't go to sleep. Being up all night then sleeping away my days isn't desired or intended. I try going to bed at 10pm, but I always manage to wake back up at like 2am, wide wake I might add, like i never slept. Hey, at least I find the latest news for the day.

Friends Don't Let Friends Dial Drunk

WOW! At approximately 1:15am of December the 14th, one Sam Ingle and one Chris McLean got a hold of Amanda's cell phone, it turned out be one of the most interesting calls I've had in a while, and keep in mind that they are both drunk over at Donnie's apartment. I had found the whole situation rather amusing because earlier I was planning on linking this bad boy up.

The first of the three calls was probably the funniest, I think. Though I did not answer the call, I could hear it from my room(across the house) because it was on the SPEAKER PHONE.

::Ring Ring Ring::

Sam or Chris in slurred voice: Hi, is Adam there?
Alex: Yes.
Sam or Chris: ( begin to bust up laughing and hang up).

::Ring Ring Ring::

Me: Hello?
Sam or Chris: Hi, is this Adam?
Me:Yes.
Sam or Chris: Is this Adam of the HACKERATi?
Me: Huh?
Sam or Chris: Is this Adam of the "HACKERATi?"
Me: [silence]
Sam or Chris: Is your last name "HACKERATi?"
Me: [silence]
Sam or Chris: Wanna Mingle with Ingle?
Me: What?
Sam or Chris: Why don't you update?
Me: What?
Sam or Chris: Who is this?
Me: [silence]
Sam or Chris: I am a Hooter!

The rest of this phone call goes on with Sam or Chris just repeating those same questions over and over or just shouting out crap I can't understand to the amount of alcohol they have consumed.

::Ring Ring Ring::

Me: Hello?
Sam or Chris: Dunna nunna nunna nunna, Nunna nunna nunna nunna, Dunna nunna nunna nunna, SPIDERMAAAANNNN!!!! [hang up]

Thanks guys, just after I had to explain to my mom who called and why they were calling so late. You guys deserve pats on the back.

'Narnia'

Despite the lack of entertainment, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe still takes in $67 million in it's opening weekend. The only other film to have a higher December debut at the box office was The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in 2003, which took in $72.6 million. I've only heard one bad review about this picture, all the rest have been positive ratings. Are viewers expecting too much, maybe thinking too much? All I know is that when films come out that are based off of books previously written, people get bent out of shape when film isn't exactly how it was in the book. I hear a lot about how "Jackson butchered the 'Rings' " and how "They left so much out of The Goblet of Fire," watch the movie for what it is, not what you wanted or hoped it to be. The Lord of the Rings' and Harry Potters' have been pretty powerful films, but I think that the Chronicles of Narnia will takes LOTR place perfectly. 'Narnia' I have a feeling will be a very satisfying feature.

The Cancer Sniffing Beagle

I felt like treating my sister to a coffee today, so we went out to the B&N/Starbucks. I got my usual Vanilla Bean and she got a caramel apple cider, which was delicious. I went to the customer service desk and asked where all the 2006 large Moleskine weekly planners were. They are out and not ordering anymore[growls] . Also waiting for help was this guy with his beagle, he put a little coat just so it could come inside. He was just starring at my sister and when he noticed that she was looking at his dog he said, "Here, hold her," and Put his god in Allison's arms. Then he goes on about how he is going to train it to SNIFF OUT CANCER. Can dogs even do that? So we get away from that hoser and go and sit down inside the Starbucks. This fool walks around pointing his dog at every female he could find , walks around Allison once then sites down right next to us. He has set the trap by pointing the dog at the door so that anyone(females) would see it. So, a couple minutes go by and a cute girl comes and goes crazy, then sits down and talks to him about his dog. The he tries that soem shit by trying to put the dog in her arms as well; she denies. My sister and I both rolled our eyes and said "WOW!" The weird thing is that he was like 40, balding, and over weight, it was almost gross watching him do this. Way out of line.

But now when anyone asks why the hell they are there, I just yell out, "Take a few, have some holiday spirit!"

Start Running...NOW!

I haven't been at track practice for about 2 weeks now. I hurt my hip doing block starts and just getting out of bed hurt. I have missed a lot as far as practice goes, this is the time when we really kicked it into gear and try to get is shape early so that the rest is just to build strength later on. I will start running tonight then begin with every other morning for about 35 minutes, between my longer running days I will be doing track workouts that the coach has given me. I hope the be in better shape then when I had first stopped practice. This year will be an incredible season for the Raiders, as far as the men's team goes. I was told I am still a crucial member of the 4x400 meter team and I intend to keep it that way. GOOD LUCK!

Segway

What ever happened to the Segway? I saw one in Ashland last week, yes, a real one, and started wondering if they had that good turnout since their debut. It was the first and only Segway I have really seen put to use in public. I saw some at the Pro Bowl 3 years back, but those don't count. How much are those things anyway, I'm too lazy to look too in depth. You would think that they would be good for a larger city with a lot of traffic, like N.Y., but on the other hand there are too many pedestrians walking around to get to you desired location easily. Ashland seems like a good place to have one, there are rich people, there is only one road you need to travel on, plenty of space to roll around.

Pirate Football

VS

Tomorrow in Roseburg at 1pm, the Phoenix Pirates will be playing the Marist Spartans in the 3A State Playoff semifinal game. In the last two meting between the two teams Phoenix won both, one in '79 in the semi's and the other in '85 for the state title. But have extremely fast and offenses and strong defenses. Phoenix has four, first choice, receivers(Shephard, Joseph, Decuir, and Ritchie), and 3 fast, and strong, backs( Foster, Hammon, and Giron). On defense phoenix has arguably the bask linebackers in the state(Bucich, Decuir, and Riley). I think that Phoenix's back field will be the deciding factor in this game. Marist is known for making and thriving on big plays, but is known for making big plays on defense as far and coverage and interceptions go. I have a feeling that Phoenix will win, not just because my brother in on the team and my brothers and sister all graduated from there, but because Phoenix is strong and Marist had a pretty weak league all year.
