Recital Breakdown. The ending is the greatest thing ever. Reminds me of a kid I used to know in elementary school to a "t", Aaron Nelson.

I Am Burnt!

This morning i was invited to go wake boarding with a couple other guys at work. The last time i had tried was my senior year and it wasn't a very fun experience. I told the guys i would go but probably just watch. We cut out at opening and headed to Lost Creek Lake.

After my buddies got all warmed up and had their go they asked me if i wanted to try. These guys are infinitely smarter than the dude who tried to teach me, so i gave it a try. I stood up for the first time ever on a wake board on my first try of the day. Shortly after I lost control and fell, but i still stood up. I gave it like five more tries, standing up on all but one of them and tried something new each time. That had already made my day. Then they asked if i had ever been wake surfing. Basically you make a huge wake, with properties similar to and good surfing wave, and you hop on it with wake surfboard and surf it out. You begin with a rope but if you can find the sweet spot, or the "G" spot, you can ditch the rope and surf hands-free until you can't any longer. And you don't have bindings, so you feel a little bit more free.

I said OK.

I stood up on my first try again and cruised around. When wake surfing you are only like 5-8 feet away from the back of the boat, and when you are searching for the sweet spot it gets supper fast and slippery (hmm, that came out weird). So i stood up and most of my tries, but when entering the wake a few minutes later the board would rocket out from underneath me or i wold get the wobbles you try and pull down the leg of my shorts and lose control and "eat it" in the most hilarious way, apparently. Then they wake skated, which i wanted to have no part in.

We were out their from about 11:30am till about 4:30pm, and I and fired to shit. It feels good though, but not really.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 'n' Tuesday

Now that I live at home again and have to travel way across town to get to work I will start getting up a little earlier than usual. Whereas I could get up at 3:40am when living at the apartment, I will start rising at around 3am here at my mom's house.

It has been a pretty eventful holiday weekend for me. Saturday, Donnie and I successfully moved out of the apartment. We didn't even go through everything on 'the list' and it took forever. That night there was the BBQ/party for Scott at the Rotbart's night. There was a lot of alcohol. Sunday, my family went to the R-Ranch in California (I was still hung over from the night before and dread the car ride). I went fishing, floated on the Klamath River and ate a lot. It was pretty relaxing. Last night we went to Kaleidascope for by birthday dinner. My mom got me a new fishing rod and reel and my sister got me a new wallet to replace my very cool yet very fragile Pokteo.

Last night Donnie and I enjoyed some Papa Murphy's and Rolling Rock out on the stoop. Last night was our last night in Apt. #1. We pulled pulled out our furniture, the two big seats and the table, and enjoyed our beer 'n' pizza in style.

I've always wanted to go on Disneyland's Jungle Cruise.

Slow motion video of a water balloon not breaking. Wild. And to flip it on y'all, here is a video one a water balloon being popped. Oldie but goodie.

You'd think with a name like "Ostrich People" that they would be fast runners. Instead they are just in-bread freaks.

Pan's Labyrinth Is Rad

Towards the end of April I had requested to have the 26th and 27th off of May so that I could attend Scott's shindig, and then the 2nd and the 3rd off of June so that I can celebrate my birthday which is on the 29th.

My usual weekends are Tuesday and Wednesday, and the 26th and 27th is Friday and Saturday. Because I had requested those dates off it messed up my weekend schedule and now I have a nice 9 day working spree, which will all be on one paycheck, and on top that off it is a "Walk-Week," so hours are there for the takin'. I'm a takin'. I am planning on picking up other people's shifts so that I can have 8 hours shifts (or more) for the 9 nine days. If I can do that It will get me to my next pay raise the will go into effect on my next next paycheck.

Wait, what's that I hear? Make that money, ho? Ah yes, MAKE THAT MONEY, HO!

Son Of A Bitch!

I Basically thought that this shirt was kind of cool. I skim-scammed along the outside and read some of the spoilers, most of which were movies I had already seen. Then I started to read 'em all. I got to the center and read out loud, "Snape Kills Dumbledore." "SON OF A BITCH!" I haven't read the books, so that pissed me right the eff off. I'm so looking forward to the new Harry Potter.

4:13pm-I just used all my Threadless points to buy this tee. I had $10.50 worth, so I only paid $4.50 plus shipping. Not bad.

Legionnaire Apparel

MxPx front man and Meddy owner/designer are teaming up to bring you Legionnaire Apparel. I work with the Meddy Man himself, so I see a lot of his designs that he sports at work, many of which are pretty cool, and already a handful of other co-workers have a tee. I picked out this one earlier today at Go Lucky. They have some stickers out as well that you can get through their Myspace.

Once the clothing line becomes more readily available to everyone the site will be updated, displaying all the products that they will be offering.

Who's Aston Kutcher?

I basically scared the shit out of Donnie last night after he got home from work. It was late, so he was already tired and unsuspecting of the whole thing. His reaction is totally to die for. You thought you knew Donnie Jeter, but you really have no idea.

Like Clockwork

I woke up late this morning for work...Again. I wasn't 5 minutes late, or 15 minutes late, or even 45 minutes late. I was 4 hours late (no call-no show). I called my manager and he said we will handle it after my weekend. I'm fucked.

I am often late to work, but I am told that it's not that bad. They tell me that I could be late as much as "John" is, who takes sick days and come sin late like it's nobodies business. And though I'm in center and report to the center manager, each manger there in the morning greets me with an oh so joyful, "Like Clockwork" whenever I arrive late.

Mother's Day

Went out this evening and picked up the our mother's gift that'll be from the family. We got her a digital photo frame with 128MB's of internal memory. It's pretty sweet. It can store and play music and video and display the images in a slide show. I think she'll love it. This year she just wanted to stay home and cook for us, because that is what she loves doing(being around and taking care of her kids). But I think that this will come as bit of a surprise. She keeps photos all over her work place(s) of the kids, and I think she'll love having all of them right there for her friends and co-workers to see.

Love you, Mom.

An Update Of The Normal Type

It has been a pretty nice two days, not just the weather (85+), but the activities the crew has participated in. Last Night, Scott, Molle, Jag, Kelsey and myself went to Fichtner to play some sand volleyball. This morning we just kicked it and made the "Peaches and Cream" video. Donnie then left because he had some errands, so Scott and I went and got a Slurpee then made "The Hostage" video. After that, Donnie, Scott and I set the Slip and Slide up and played a game they made up...for like 2 and a half hours.

It was a very enjoyable weekend for me.

2 guys and 3 girls is not equal to 4 guys. They gave us the chance to lose some of our weak spots, but we kept the girls and went 0-3, I believe.

Scott will love this.

The Explorer

Givin' the VW it's last cleaning it will get from me. I am buying my aunt's Ford Explorer Sport and getting rid of the Bug. It was definitely an investment and a hassle, but the coolest car ever. Where the VW was a '74 and the odometer had been flipped once already, the Explorer is a '99 and has 32,000 miles on it. It is an automatic, which is nice because I don't have to worry about changing gears, obviously. I'm gonna miss that damn car, but it gonna be nice worrying about when it will break down next, or when and where I'll run out of gas, or if the locks will freeze over, preventing me from getting to work on time.

Desperate?

I invited Jason Kottke to join my Blingo friends list. Yeah, that's right, I've gone right to the big dog, right to the top of the list. Donnie thinks that it makes me look like an idiot, but what does he know? Pfft. I don't think that me inviting him makes me looks so, but the fact that I said in the personal message, "I'm a blogger, join a Blingo," does do me in dor "idiot" status. I don't care really, he either joins or declines. What the worst that can happen? Maybe no one has ever even tried to invite The Kottke because they think he was already with Blingo, or maybe that he wouldn't want to join as "friends." Maybe he's felt left out over all the years. He may be an elite, but he is also a human. Perhaps by me inviting him he feels a little closer to the "common" blogger community and not so isolated on Planet Kottke in the A-List Galaxy.

Desperate? I think not. Caring and optimistic is more like it. Yeah.

Ugh

I was running around after work today taking care of some errands. I was gettin paid, payin' bills and looking into a loan for a new car. I got a bunch of information from Rogue Federal and made my way over to my mom's work. I ran out of gas in the median turn lane directly in front of Dr. Jensen's. It felt great. I always feel great when I run out of gas 'cause people look at me like I'm an idiot, like I can't read a gas gauge or somethin'. What they don't know is that the gas gauge in the Bug works when it wants to. Shows full when empty and empty when full. While idling it will show empty, then full, them empty again, then full once more. I never know how much gas I have until this kind of thing happens.

"Why don't you just watch the odometer and see how many miles you get per tank then keep tally after each fill up?"

Because I don't fucking want to. I'm not going to keep a damn pen and paper pad in the car just for "crunching numbers." And I'm certainly not gonna drive around mumbling "Carry over the 4 and you take 6 from 9 and 3 goes into 9, 3 times minus once Easter basket." Eff that noise. I even hate it when people say "eff that noise," so for me to say it means that I'm serious.
