Back In Time to the Millennium

I like the blog posts Scott and Donnie have delivered to us about funny and possibly controversial instances about each other. They were very entertaining. It has even aroused my interest to try and scrape something funny up about a family member. It kinda irked him way back when, when we would confront him about it, but nowadays it just good ol' dinner table humor.

My brother Austin for the longest time harbored a secret crush on the Backstreet Boys. The dates on paper don't seem like they match up in my head, but I remember him asking our mom for the Backstreet Boys new CD Millennium and a new CD player to listen to it on. Christmas morning came and 10 year old Austin came running upstairs and starting going through his stocking. He exploded in his pants when he found his brand new Backstreet Boys CD and a shiny new CD player. He opened it up and listened to it right there and all throughout the day. He even made up a new dance move the likes of which the world has never seen, and devoted it to that CD. Later, when little Austin found out that the rest of his brothers didn't like the Backstreet Boys, he broke up his CD and hid it underneath his bed. When we asked him why he broke it he said it was because he never even really liked 'em, and that mom for some reason got the impression that he wanted it for Christmas along with a new CD player. He claimed he didn't understand how mom came to that conclusion, but later admitted that he was embarrassed and said he realized that guys didn't listen the Backstreet Boys and that they were, and are, a joke. Everyone knows that 'N Sync was way cooler. I mean they had good dances moves, like the one where they are acted like puppets. Jesus that was clever.

Anyways, what a funny guy.

Labels: 'N sync, Backstreet Boys
