Mini Vay-Kay

Yesterday marked the 5th day that I have not had to work. I scratched my eye last Saturday, had Sunday and Monday off, and they called me to say not to come in Tuesday and Wednesday. I took vacation pay so I wouldn't have to feel the effects of not working, and far as cash flow. I've gone almost 2 years without using any of my vacation pay and if they have to cut hours I might as well use it. In like 5 months all my paid days off (approx. 120hrs) gets renewed anyway, so I don't feel so bad about using it.

Anymore days off and might forget what to do at work.

There Will Be Blood

Twas definitely a interesting movie. I left the movie theater trying to figure out just what it was missing. Something just didn't sit well once the movie came to an end the and the credits started rolling. After talking with my brother it wasn't that the film was missing anything at all. Seems like so many of the films you see, even if there is no other story going on or a sequel lined up, it leaves you hanging there with a 'what next' kind of feeling. The story in There Will Be Blood was simply just wrapped up beautifully by the end. It was kinda weird.

Daniel Day-Lewis was the movie for sure, but a big note worthy performance that of Paul Dano. For how little you see him in the film, and in any other films for that matter, his presence was definitely felt here in this role.

"I'm finished."

Randomness

Jagg Off. 1:38 reminds me of life back at the apartment when I was still working mornings at Costco.

Cory just couldn't apologize, and now he has a tee shirt.

"Worst Spider-Man ever." 'Nuff said.

This is why steroids are bad for you. I had a hard time watching this.

I can't wait to see Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

Crank dat Saved by The Bell!

Assassins Creed

My brother recently purchased Assassins Creed for 360. It might be one of the coolest games I have ever seen. The graphics are freakish and the lighting makes for pretty damn realistic game play. You basically use free running to travel around town and escape from danger while honing the art of assassination. It's bad ass.

Currently...

Working on a video using the pictures and videos I took earlier today around the snow. This won't be to compete with the caliber of films Eric and Sam are producing. Well, talent wise I think we can compete, it's the attention span that lacks with my crew. Anywho, stay tuned.

12:30am. The video is complete. Enjoy...or not.

This Feels Phenominal

I've been sick for the past week. I also scratched my eyeball on Saturday morning which prevented me from going to work. I've been walking around fro the past two days with a pirate eye patch on that my mom got for this past Halloween.

"Hey, Jeb, This is Adam. I don't think I'm gonna make it into work today. Want me to save some payroll?"

"No savin' payroll today, bud. What's the matter, you sick?"

"No, well yeah, my eye is all messed up."

"Think you can make it into work, we're really busy."

"Well, imagine your eye is all red and tears won't stop pouring from it. But the tears are red, and they aren't tears, it's blood (always gotta exaggerate when calling in sick). That's what my eye is like."

"So are you calling in sick?"

"Not yet, let me call you right back."

(30 seconds later)

"Hey, Jeb, this is Adam, this is me calling in sick."

Strange Wilderness

Strange Wilderness may turn out to be the lamest movie ever, but I'm seeing it. Basically I made up my mind to see it in the last 30 seconds of the trailer.

"The Winningest Man on Blingo"

I was enjoying some of the ramblings of the Saboratory and noticed that as I hovered over my link it says, "The winningest man on Blingo." Thanks, Sambo.

I would like to take this moment to thank God for giving me the opportunity and the gifts he has given me to make all this possible. One love *double taps fist his fist against his heart then points to the sky*.

I have won 11 times* with Blingo, and would be happy to adopt the title, but am I really the winningest person using Blingo? If not, who is? How many times have they won?

If you're not on Blingo, click here! Sorry, I had to.

*I have actually won 12 times, but I had already won twice that month so I was ineligible to accept the prize.

What To Do, What To Do

At this moment I want to...

Go somewhere in a car.
Build something out of wood.
Make some sort of funny movie with my new camera.
Play Cranium.
Play remote helicopters with my brother who is asleep.
Put bubbles on a hill and slide down it.
Get a model rocket and shoot it at the Manor.
Buy a new Moleskine and draw in it.
Climb a big tree or possibly my old elementary school.
Maybe roll a bag of oranges, no, fours bags of oranges down the hill.

Bored?

The Ledger

Heath Ledger has passed away. He was found with sleeping pills and prescribed medication in close proximity. There were no indications of foul play. It's a sad day.

From trailers it looked like he had captured a character that you thought only Jack Nicholson could perfect. He took the Joker and made it his own and made it to some, better than the original.

What will happen with the new Batman series? Christian Bale signed for three movies and as Batman he was supposed to be going against the Joker and Two Face in the third installment. Are they going to rewrite the end of The Dark Knight and the third movie or will the try and find a Heath lookalike? If they find someone else to play the Joker how are they going to get them to live up to what Ledger has with the character? So many questions.

Sweeney Todd

I'm giving Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, two thumbs up. It's buy Tim Burton, so like always anything less than the best is a felony. It was a much darker film than I had previously anticipated. I had seen trailers for it but I didn't know that it was rated "R" until I got my ticket stub. But I guess when you have a crazed barber out for vengeance against a judge that jealously stole his life, wife and daughter away so he returns goes crazy and starts slicing every patients throat then serving their meat ground bodies out in meat pies as a main course in the restaurant-like place below his shop, you kinda have to put an "R" rating on it, huh? Sorry. Sasha Cohen (Borat) had a funny bit in the movie as well. I mean you can't help but laugh when you see the guy.

Cloverfield

I thought that shit was entertaining. Don't go into the theater ready to pick it apart on whether is has the specific criteria for what makes a cool movie. Sit down, watch the crazy shit that's goin' on and enjoy it for what it is because you should come out chuckling at least.

What I truly enjoy about movies like this are the kinda crowds it attracts despite the fact that its supposed to be horrible. Its the people viewing that make the experience. I mean, whee else are you going to hear, "That movie affected me, like more that The Passion of the Christ OR Passion of the Jew" or "I got a boner what that chick blew up."

Classic.

Momma, I'm a Forklift Driver!

Over the past month I have probably driven the forklift about 6 times. Not 6 times in a row either, 6 random ass days during the past 30 days or so. I've been told and seen that it takes about 3 weeks of behind the scenes driving, and that's if you drive 4-5 days out of the week, to get the chance to go out on the floor and actually work: Taking product in and out of the steal and without supervision. I'm already at this point. I'm not certified yet because I have to have a documented period of time that I was "supervised."

I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made and other recognize the genius I possess while driving. I do get a pay increase for the time that I'm on the lift, even without being certified and it's makes me more valuable around the warehouse. Now is the best that I have ever felt about this job, and I've felt pretty darn good about it since I started.

I was in the top spot for a couple full-time positions, but i slipped up just after i turned in my letter of intent and strolled in late. People that haven't been there for at least two years are typically not even considered, I have been there just about a year and a half. Both positions were also outside of my home department, so being considered over people that have been there for 5 years and trying for a full-time spot felt good.
